Gambler and gunman Bat Masterson (Joel McCrea) rides into Dodge City, Kan., to visit his straight-arrow brother, Ed (Harry Lauter), who is hoping to defeat crooked sheriff Jim Regan (Don Haggerty) in an upcoming election. Bat purchases and renovates a rundown saloon, attracting the notice of Regan's henchmen.
