Near Wigan, Matt has built his wife’s dream home, and he has filled it, not only with his own collections, but also those of his late father. The bedrooms, garage and even the summerhouse are packed to the rafters with boxes filled with collectibles. Matt has even resorted to filling a shipping container in the garden. It’s a dire situation for his wife of 25 years, Paula, who is desperate to clear her husband’s clutter. However, they don’t know where to begin. A haul of gold sovereigns could be worth a fortune, but auctioneer Izzie Balmer suspects some may be fake. Her suspicion is aroused when she learns Matt bought them at a car boot sale. Matt and Paula’s six daughters have threatened to throw everything in a skip, so Izzie has just one day to root out the treasures from the trash before it’s too late. Restorer JJ Chalmer uses a toothpaste hack to add value to damaged collectibles, although he’ll need something stronger to bring back to life the diggers and dumper trucks he thinks will entice collectors at auction. On sale day, some old camera equipment is snapped up by keen bidders, and some 1980s computers set the internet alight with bids.

The River Don rises in wild land, high on the moors of the Grampian mountains. Paul follows its easterly flow from the famous Cock Bridge, where he encounters the Lonach Highlanders and a clan chief with two feathers in his cap carrying relics of the Battle of Culloden. Close to Strathdon, Paul meets an artist and sculptor who creates lifelike creatures from scrap metal, and then learns how the Aberdeen Angus became a world-beating cattle breed. At Alford, he explores an unusual transport museum and hears about an eccentric and brilliant postman who invented a steam automobile. A trip in a vintage Rolls-Royce takes Paul further along the course of the river. At Kemnay, he visits the huge quarry that once provided granite for prestigious buildings across the UK. As the river nears the sea, Paul meets a woman who wove overcoats for the Red Army. He then helps a Bulgarian couple harvest honey from their black Scottish bees before reaching the mouth of the river on the North Sea coast.

On Skye, ex-Glasgow policeman Sgt Gordon McKay comes to the rescue of a stranded tourist who has injured her ankle on a trail in the hills.

The aftermath of Jonathon’s attack forces a terrified Gillian and Roisin to act fast. Meanwhile, Kelly-Marie is suspicious of Chris’s agenda, and a heartbroken Caitlin confronts Seb after Drew reveals his plans for rehab.

Following a prank that went wrong, Sergeant Thomson takes a brief break from his day off to punish Gary and the boys by putting them on kitchen duty for the Captain's important dinner. Chef works hard to keep them under control while also trying to create a dinner good enough to impress Colonel Fanshaw, the Captain's father. But when an inebriated Thomson returns to wreak havoc in the kitchen, it's left to Gary to ensure that the dinner is a success and the Captain isn't embarrassed in front of 'Colonel Daddy'.
