CEO Holger Lang is stunned when a video surfaces showing Christina, his heir, being murdered by a hitman. Realising the connection to his younger brother Markus, Holger confronts him and uncovers a possible conspiracy threatening both his life and the family business.

Holger rushes to Markus' apartment to confront Liz, the trusted company lawyer. He discovers she has assisted Markus with a contract that could endanger the firm. Despite her intentions and possible feelings for Holger, her actions, and her links to Holger's friend Otto, threaten everything.

Louise Bergstein is on edge after her last homicide case. But she is determined to continue working as a profiler on the force, and when a middle-aged couple is found brutally murdered outside their home, she takes the case. She assists chief detective Frederik Havgaard, who isconvinced he knows who the killer is. But Louise's criminal profile points to a completely different person.

Louise locates Bjorn's little sister, Maria. Maria's case worker suggests that Louise mentor the young woman, since she is faced with the prospect of having her child forcibly removed. Reiko Bottcher is arrested as a suspect in the arms theft and the explosion at the NVA site. Reiko makes a startling confession, which helps Simon and Karo get a step closer to the truth, but he also ends up risking his life in the process.

Bottcher's death confirms that Simon and Karo are on the right path. At his funeral, they identify a person of interest known as 'KoKo-Wutzke', Garster's former boss, and a man from Karo's complicated past.
